The series of works in aquarelle technique entitled “The Lake” is dedicated to the natural reserve – Lake Kerkini, near which the artist now lives after moving to one of the nearby villages.
The move gave the artist the opportunity to immerse herself deeply in the rhythm of the area. Daily observations of nature and conversations with local residents about the peculiarities of these places became a source of visual metaphors and plots. It combines stylized landscapes, ornamental flower motifs, animals, birds, and human figures. There is no exact nature here. Instead, there are simplified forms, rhythms, patterns, and color combinations that convey the character of the lake’s ecosystem and the author’s emotional response to it.
This series was conceived by the author to reflect the character and biological diversity of the lake through artistic and illustrative language and to explain why this place is important and why it is worth preserving.

Meet the artist

Evgenia Loginova is an artist and illustrator. She lives and works in Greece. In her work, she explores the relationship between humans and nature, viewing them as a single, indivisible community.

Her artistic practice can be seen as an attempt to restore the connection between humans and nature, within which nature and humans exist in harmonious union, and form a single living whole. Through her works, she invites the viewer to feel their connection to a broader and more holistic order of being that transcends individual experience and personal history.

“In my view, optimism is not merely about expecting future improvements or assuming that everything will turn out fine. Rather, it is a conscious effort to find harmony and inner balance. For me, optimism is more a principle of perceiving life—one that reveals the beauty and wholeness of the world in the present moment. Drawing on images of nature and mythology that are close to my heart, I seek to invite viewers to experience the wholeness of life and joy of existence through a rich variety of colors.”
